The Community

Caithness Engineering Alliance is dedicated to supporting the community, the people and the organisations that ensure the county remains a vibrant and sustainable place to live.

Each firm is actively involved through a number of national, regional and local programmes.

Apprenticeships – Over 30 per year across the alliance.

Work placements – Job experience for 3rd and 5th years and work placement for undergraduates to gain real life experience.

Adult and retraining initiatives – For long-term unemployed and retraining for ex-offenders through national programmes.

Science Technology Engineering Maths Ambassadors – Each of the companies are actively involved in the national STEM Ambassador programme. STEM ambassadors are inspiring role models for young people, switching their minds to the excitement and potential of STEM subjects and careers.

HIE Academy – Supported, promoted and encouraged by all the companies involved to build on the skills, quality of the people and abilities with in Caithness.
